Barbaresco, among the hills…
In Barbaresco, where the hills are redolent with Nebbiolo and history, the Francesco and Mario Vacca winery is to be found, together with its seven hectares of vineyards where traditional varieties, including Barbera, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo and Arneis are cultivated.
Today, the winery is run by Saverio Vacca, together with his father, Mario, both experienced and meticulous wine makers who uphold both family traditions and the guidelines of the Produttori del Barbaresco Cooperative, of which they are members and where their Nebbiolo grapes for the production of Barbaresco are vinified. With their other grape varietals, they produce a further six wines - a full range of flavours for every occasion.
This story began in 1958.
Even today, despite the passing of time, family memory and tradition are still very much alive.
“The earth is Mother”, is a saying here. Saverio Vacca is convinced of this, but takes the saying a little further, adding “if you give to the earth, she will surely reward you”.
The winery produces six wines, including four DOC ones.
